Udinese v Bari Match Preview and Betting Tips

Sunday March 6th 2011, 2pm GMT

Last Sundays goal-fest in Sicily may be a bad memory for fans of Palermo, but it is more indicative of the way Udinese have approached games this season than their 0-0 draw with Brescia the previous week. The bizarre 7-0 scoreline naturally caught the attention of football observers across Europe, and Udinese claim to have received a €30 million bid for 22-year-old Chilean Alexis Sanchez, who scored four in Palermo.

Is Sanchez soon to leave Udinese?

This will be Bari’s fourth game under new coach Bortolo Mutti who, as you can see below, has a record of two draws and one defeat. Bari will be aiming for their first win in ten games on Sunday, against a side who are unbeaten in their last ten games. Incidentally, the last team to beat Udinese were Lazio, who currently occupy the last Champions League spot in Serie A, and who Udinese will overtake if they can beat Bari and if Lazio fail to beat Palermo.

Mutti’s arrival has had a noticeable impact at Bari – they have only conceded twice in three games since he took charge, while they conceded seven in the three games prior to his appointment. Scoring has been their main problem however, and considering Udinese haven’t conceded in their last four games I am backing them to continue this run while recording another win.

Prediction – Udinese to win to nil – 4pts
