AC Milan v Lazio Match Preview and Betting Tips
February 1st 2011, 7.45pm GMT (live on Setanta Ireland)
Third-placed Lazio tonight visit the San Siro as they attempt to close the 7-point gap between themselves and Serie A leaders AC Milan.
Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri expects Lazio to provide his players with a stern test, as they did earlier this season when these sides drew 1-1 in Rome. “Our aim is to finish the campaign with 80 points and in order to do that we have to win 11 more games,” announced Allegri.
Milan will be without the services of Massimo Ambrosini, Alessandro Pirlo, Andrea Nesta, Clarence Seedorf and Gianluca Zambrotta (injured) and Mark Van Bommel (suspended). Lazio are still missing strikers Tommaso Rocchi (injured) and Mauro Zarate (suspended). Libor Kozak will undoubtedly earn his second start for the Biancoceleste, having scored both their goals on Sunday.

This is obviously a difficult challenge for Lazio, but coach Eddy Reja has vowed to attack the home side: “we have to go out there and look to score goals otherwise we’ll return to Rome as a beaten side,” he stated. “If we wait for Milan to attack us then we will certainly lose the game.”
While Reja may be using mind-games ahead of this big match I am prepared to take him at his word, and if Lazio do employ an attacking approach we will see a few goals this evening.
